If you, as a start-up, apply to the schemes, they are an excellent method to draw investors and raise money for your company. This article will guide how to write a SEIS or EIS business plan, a crucial stage in the procedure.

The two schemes are different from one another in scale.

EIS is for SMEs with less than £15m in gross assets, fewer than 250 workers, and less than seven years after the first commercial sale. A firm can raise £5m yearly and £12m in total. 30% of the invested amount is tax-free. After three years, investors are exempt from paying Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and It is possible to deduct any losses from either Income Tax or CGT. If shares are kept for two years, they’re Inheritance Tax-free.

The SEIS targets early-stage start-ups and grants a 50% Income Tax exemption on investments up to £100,000 yearly with a lifetime limit of £150,000. SEIS participants can write off 50% of their investment against CGT in the same tax year.

IS A BUSINESS PLAN REQUIRED FOR SEIS AND EIS?

During Advance Assurance, you must submit a SEIS and EIS Business Plan. If applying for SEIS or EIS funding, it must submit budget projections for the next two years detailing how the funds will be used. Extra solid documentation, including draughts, is required. It may include the company’s financial records, incorporation documents, shareholder agreements, Companies House filings, and director and shareholder information. A cover letter can help the HMRC evaluate all the paperwork and ensure a faster turnaround.

SEIS BUSINESS PLANS AND EIS BUSINESS PLANS

Not only is it necessary to submit an application to the HMRC for the SEIS and EIS schemes, Nonetheless a good business strategy may be shared with more than just management: potential and current investors. It is recommended that either the SEIS Business Plan or the EIS Business Plan be used as a road map for your company.

It is recommended that a SEIS or EIS Business Plan follow a structure similar to the following:

An Executive Summary: It is a one-page document that provides a synopsis of the company’s trade, the market potential, and the outcomes that the investment will produce. It might be presented as a list of “Problems” and “Solutions” in a particular order.

Business Model: Describe the ownership type of the firm, its goals, how it is currently formed, and if investment under the SEIS or EIS schemes will alter the model in any way in this part.

Market: The market circumstances in which the firm is now functioning or wants to operate will be discussed in this section company’s needs. It will identify market prospects and provide a quantitative assessment of those opportunities. Additionally, it will include an analysis of the company’s rivals and a description of the company’s advantages over those competitors. In this area, you want to discuss any price plans that you have as well as sales estimates.

Risks to Capital: It is essential for investors and the government, both of which you are attempting to convince to support any investment through the SEIS/EIS tax relief, to be aware of the risks and any conceivable scenarios. It would help if you lay up a plan to mitigate potential hazards and safeguard your financial resources. You should present this part as a SWOT analysis, which stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Finances: When it comes to finances, make sure to include any trade specifics from the past and your future estimates. The average time horizon for projections is three years. However, the SEIS/EIS method requires only two years. This section should outline the funding needs and provide an in-depth justification for the investment.

The Ask: Even if you are actively seeking investors, you must refrain from making any eligibility claims for the SEIS or EIS until you have received approval from the HMRC. It is OK to mention that you have already begun the application procedure or are currently submitting your application to the program.

We as “Infocrest” have helped lot of Startups, SMEs and Consultants in UK successfully, helping them to unlock these capital-raising opportunities by creating a solid business plan which is vital to accessing the SEIS and EIS programs.
OVERVIEW

The US EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program requires that a foreign individual invests into a new commercial enterprise that is associated with government-approved regional centers based on proposals for promoting economic growth.

ELIGIBILITY

Under this program, investors (and their spouses and unmarried children under 21) are eligible to apply for a Green Card (permanent residence) if they:

Fulfil one of the following investment options:

USD 1,050,000 into a non-targeted employment area project

USD 800,000 into a targeted employment area project in a rural area or an area with high unemployment

Create or preserve 10 permanent full-time jobs for qualified USA workers

FEES

The total cost for an EB-5 investor visa is between $4020 and $4,900, depending on where the applicant is filing from.

To begin with, the applicant will need to pay a fee of $3675 to file Form I-526 (officially called “Immigrant Petition by Alien Entrepreneur”).

If the applicant is applying from outside the United States (via consular processing), they will need to pay an additional $345 for the visa application processing fee — making a total of $4020, not including the cost of the medical exam, which varies depending on the country.

If the applicant is applying from within the United States, they will need to pay $1140 to file Form I-485 (officially called the “Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status”) plus $85 for the biometrics service. In this case, the applicant will need to pay a total of $4900.

BENEFITS

The benefits of the EB-5 visa investor program include a US investor’s green card and other advantages, which make the laborious legal immigration process worth it for foreign nationals desiring to move to the United States.

Enables the investor, their spouses, and their eligible children to legally reside, study, and work in the United States.

Expedites the road to permanent residency more quickly than other visas and green cards.

Does not require visa sponsorship.

Work and live anywhere in the United States.

Enables the investor’s children to study and work in the U.S.

Leads to profits and additional income with the right investment.

BUSINESS PLAN FOR USA EB-5 INVESTOR GREEN CARD PROGRAM VISA

Having a strong business plan is essential to the success of an EB-5 project. EB-5 business plans must convincingly show that a project is feasible and will fulfill the criteria of the EB-5 program. USCIS carefully evaluates all EB-5 business plans before granting approval to any EB-5 investor. Additionally, if an EB-5 project lacks a comprehensive business plan, potential investors are unlikely to subscribe.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE STARTUP BUSINESS PLAN?

Details regarding every area of your business should be present in your business plan. That includes:

OVERVIEW

A business visa is part of the Golden Visa system under which foreigners can obtain a long-term visa for themselves and their dependents. It aims to create an attractive environment for businesses and the UAE’s economic growth.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Professionals from any country with entrepreneurial experience are eligible to apply for the business visa. An eligible entrepreneur is anyone who has set up a business of his own at some point in his career, and wishes to do so again in the UAE.

A UAE Golden Visa holder can sponsor their spouse, children regardless of age and an unlimited number of domestic labourers like babysitters, housekeepers, drivers, etc. for them to get residence too.

ELIGIBILITY

To obtain the business visa, applicants must:

• be able to substantiate your experience as an entrepreneur,

• have been a majority shareholder of a start-up or a member of its senior leadership,

• be willing to relocate to the UAE and legally establish a business in one of the seven emirates, and

• applicants must have a business idea or a business plan that they are planning to start in the UAE.

Qualifying for the business visa does not guarantee that the applicant will receive the visa. Applicants must get their business visa application, other legal documents and business plan reviewed and approved by government officials.

Specialized committees review the application and the attached documents, and grant an approval accordingly. Once approved, the applicant will be required to follow the requirements of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security in order to be issued the visa.

WHAT ONE CAN DO WITH THIS VISA?

Once the visa is issued, the applicant is allowed to:

• enter the country for a period of six months with a multiple-entry visa, to facilitate the procedures of establishing the business. You must convert it to a residency permit before it expires, and

• nominate up to three of his business’s senior staff to obtain residency.

FEES

The application fee is AED 2,790 ($760), and the Emirates ID fee is AED 1,070 ($290).

BENEFITS OF HAVING THE UAE GOLDEN VISA

Favourable business and tax climate

There are no income, corporate, or property taxes for residents of the UAE. The country has double taxation avoidance agreements with more than 100 countries. The list includes Canada, China, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, and India.

Residence for employees

The business visa allows nominating up to three of a company’s senior staff to get residence permit.

The ability to live outside the UAE

If you run a business in different countries, you can get a business visa to Dubai but live outside the UAE. Before the conditions were updated, the resident visa holder had to stay in the UAE for atleast six months per year to maintain the status.

Social Benefits

UAE residents receive special discounts for medical care, insurance, cars, real estate, and entertainment.

BUSINESS PLAN FOR UAE BUSINESS VISA

It is essential for any new Dubai company, business and entrepreneur to commit time to create a sound business plan. Business plans and market research play an important role in the success of any new venture, especially if you are looking to start a business in Dubai or the UAE, seeking investment, entering a new market or planning to role a new franchise out to different countries.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BUSINESS PLAN?

Drafting a business plan in an easy to comprehend manner is vital if you are looking to seek investment for your new Dubai company. The main sections of the business visa plan are mentioned below:

Description of the Company

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

A local sponsor, either a business or a person, is required to support an application for an entrepreneur visa. If the need arises, it is the sponsor’s obligation to assume responsibility for your repatriation.
COUNTRIES NOT ELIGIBLE TO THE ENTREPRENEUR VISA

The following nations are ineligible for the investment/entrepreneur visa: Afghanistan, Cuba, Laos, North Korea (also known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea), Nepal, and Vietnam.

PROCESSING TIME

From the date of filing, the visa application procedure typically takes 4 to 8 weeks.

VISA VALIDITY

As long as your firm is still viable, the entrepreneur visa is often initially granted for a one-year period and then renewed.

VISA RENEWALS

You must submit a renewal application at least four weeks before your limit of stay ends if you want to prolong your stay. Only if you continue to meet the requirements for eligibility and your business is still operating profitably will your renewal application be taken into account. The 2-2-3 years pattern will typically be followed by your extension of stay if your renewal application is approved.

PERMANENT RESIDENCE

You are entitled to apply for permanent residence, often known as “right of abode” in Hong Kong, if you have been granted an entrepreneur visa and have lived there continuously for at least seven years.

BUSINESS PLAN FOR HONGKONG ENTREPRENEUR VISA

As mentioned above, you must submit a 2-year business plan as part of your entrepreneur visa application. A good business plan is one of the most crucial aspects in the approval of entrepreneur visa application. You must convince the authorities by enclosing adequate information and proof that your business will benefit the economy of Hong Kong. Your investment plan will be scrutinized and the following factors will be taken into account by the authorities:

Business Plan: You must ensure that you have a sound business plan detailing your business idea, product or service, market analysis including the potential of your business to grow and contribute to the market in Hong Kong, your operational plan, administrative and management team etc.

Capital Investment: The authorities will examine if you have adequate capital investment or the necessary funding required to support your business. It is generally advisable to enclose documentary proof of your financial standing such as bank statements, loan papers, letters of credit etc. Although there is no minimum capital requirement, you must ensure that you have sufficient funds to cover your start-up costs and operational costs for a short to medium term period of three-six months.

Proposed Business Vehicle: Determinants such as your choice of business vehicle also plays a vital role in your application. Generally, a limited liability company incorporated in Hong Kong commands a better image than a sole proprietorship or a partnership firm, and will be taken more seriously by the authorities.

Suitable business premises: The authorities will consider if your chosen business premises is suitable for the nature of business activity you will be engaging in. For instance, an import/export company will require business space that offers storage facilities. It is advisable to enclose a copy of the existing or proposed tenancy agreement and photographs of your business premises.

What Should Be In The Business Plan?

Your business plan for immigration to HongKong is essential as one of the many supporting documents on which your application is judged.

The business plan includes:

Executive Summary

Mission Statement

Company Background

Product Description

Marketing Plan

Competitor Analysis
